My Precious Baby - Jia Hui

Oh No....HFMD?

After limiting Jia Hui from outdoor activities such as swimming, playground, deferring her entry to childcare & etc, I was told by hubby on my way back to fetch Jia Hui that she had a fever in the afternoon & mil had brought her to see Doc in the afternoon. Asked hubby what did the Doc said but he mentioned that mil only said fever and Jia Hui had taken her medicine.....

When I saw Jia Hui sitting in her car seat, she still look as cheerful... sucking on her pacifier.... used my hand to feel her head & it was quite hot.... measured her temperature & it was 37.5 degree celsius.... after having dinner and playing for a while, Jia Hui fell asleep...

Then in the middle of the night, I wake up & decided to take her temperature again & I got a shocked as her fever had hit 38.7 degree celsius.... her whole body was so hot... after feeding her milk, decided to feed her medicine but after taking her medicine, Jia Hui keeps coughing till she vomitted out..... so quickly bring her to the bathroom to clean her up & change into new clothes... after that, she fell asleep again....

The next morning, we went to see Dr Gabriel Seow (Jia Hui's doc since birth)..... reached there @ 8am & we are 3rd in the Q...... . told Dr Seow abt Jia Hui's fever & he do some check... check on her ears (to see if got an infection), luckily no infections, checked on her hands & legs... nothing too... but when Doc checked on her mouth, Doc spotted a few ulcers on her tongue.... was so kan cheong that asked Doc "is it HFMD?" but doc said maybe one of the virus & prescribe some anti virus medicine to build up Jia Hui's immunity system to fight off the virus.....

After that, I quickly smsed Kelly & Doris to ask more on HFMD..... luckily Jia Hui did not kena HFMD cos her fever did went down after taking the fever & anti-virus medicine, there are no spots on her hands & legs... only 2-3 ulcers on her tongue... & she is well on Sunday..... Think this is the best Mother's Day present for me as no HFMD...

After Baby Jia Hui's Baby Jumper Gym lesson, Da Yi came to fetch us for lunch and this also happened to be Jia Hui's 14th mth birthday. So we went to Swensen @ West Mall to have our lunch & also ordered a "Happy Fire Birthday" ice-cream for Jia Hui & she enjoyed eating the ice-cream & also seeing the fire in the middle of the ice-cream....

Development

*Able to say a few words although pronounation is not so clear.... such as duck, bus, car, pa pa, ma ma, dog...

*Doing somersault, getting down from bed & sofa

*Start to walk a few steps by herself but will walk more if mummy or daddy holds her hands

*Able to understand some the meaning of some words, such as when it is bath time, she will use her hands to touch her chest to indicate "pong pong", when she see cat, she will make meow or say out cat, when ask her to kiss kiss, she will kiss on our face...

Daddy decided to bring Jia Hui to the Zoo today... quite surprised cos all along, Daddy is against the idea of bringing Jia Hui to the Zoo cos she is still young..... really changed his mind so fast.... Shu Shu had got 4 passes for us from his company....

Wai Po agreed to tag along after all the praying for the Lunar 7th month..... & off we go to the Zoo....Did not manage to see all animals cos it was raining heavily & Jia Hui fell asleep after the elephants show....

I had just started to introduce egg yolk to Baby Jia Hui as Doc mentioned that Baby Jia Hui got a bit of sensitive skin when we visit Doc when Jia Hui is abt 4-5months old..... so during Baby Jia Hui latest visit for her 3rd dose of pneumococcal jab, did asked Doc & Doc said ok to give egg yolk as long as no history of family members with allergic to eggs....

Development

*Recognizes quite a few of items ... when mummy or daddy said where's fan, Baby Jia Hui will look up on the ceiling where the fan is , when mummy ask her where is her dog dog toy, she will crawl toward the sofa where her dog is & will also make similar sound...

*Starting to crawl on four... had been crawling on tummy for the past few months & now she is doing her new style of crawling...

*Learning to stand up by herself, walking around the table with hand supporting on the table,using the 1st step walker to walk around in the living room

*Throwing of ball to us when playing with her, concentrating when flashing flash cards to her, reading story books

*Climbing sofa, playing hide & seek, point to the sky when she hear the helicopter sound,looking for things that we hide away....

Based on Chinese tradition, when baby turned one, they will be given a few items to choose from & whatever they choose will mean what they will be when they grow up...

I was very excited & was wondering what will my precious baby choose.... so after the cutting of cake & buffet, I quickly placed the items on the floor (money, drumstick, calculator, mao bi, spring onion) on the floor... once it is ready, I placed Jia Hui at one corner & off she go... crawling toward the items...... and do u guess it correctly on the item that she choose?

Well, the item she choose is CALCULATOR.... the meaning of item calculator, i'm not too sure but heard that if the item is calculator, means that baby got lots of money to count... will be a business woman or maybe she also will be working in the financial industry just like mummy..... but I prefer her to be a business woman who run her own business... so that mummy & daddy can enjoy our golden years.... we are counting on her....hee hee hee

Time really flies & our Precious Baby Jia Hui has turned ONE..... Horray....She was born on 1st August 2006....We decided to hold a birthday party for her on 29th July (Sunday) cos her actual birthday fall on wednesday....I took a half day on Friday to go to Concourse Shopping Mall to buy some balloons & stuffs for the party.....In the end, bought the door banner, a singing Winnie the Pooh big balloon, Baby Winnie the Pooh balloon & Care Bear balloon, candies, hats & table cloth & etc.... & so the theme for Baby Jia Hui's birthday will be Winnie the Pooh.....

My Very First....

Baby Jia Hui woke up quite early today @ abt 7.30am & refused to sleep after her milk....so Daddy suggested to bring her to Kuan Im Temple @ Bugis....so Mummy packed all those necessary stuffs & off we go.....Baby Jia Hui dozed off during the journey....& still sound asleep when we reached.... but when she heard the car door sound, she woke up .... brought her to Kuan Im Temple to pray(this is her 1st time there).... & after praying, we went to the next temple..(Tian Gong Temple @ Ho Swee Shan - also Jia Hui 1st time there)....asked her pray & she will put her hands together & shaked... so cute... think she used to it already since mummy & daddy will ask her to pray whenever she reached home & when she going out....also bring her to pray to "Kong Zi" - hoping that she will excel in her studies & whatever she does....

After praying, we went to West Coast Park.... & we had our breakfast there....so Jia Hui had her 1st MacDonald breakfast...she enjoyed the meal alot.... she had a taste of the pancake, saugage, hashbrown, bread & milo too....

1st Lesson @ Baby Jumper Gym

After much considering & discussion with Daddy, Mummy had decided to enrol me for Baby Jumper Gym Little Crawler 2.... & today is my 1st lesson @ BJG.... When I reached BJG, it was still early so mummy brought me to the Gym room to have a play on the swing..... & I loved the swing so much that dont want to get off it.....

During the 1st lesson, Baby Jia Hui is able to concentrate in the 1st half of the session but she started to become cranky after playing with the bells & maracas....especially when ShiHui teacher needs to take back the stuffs.... keeps looking at where the stuffs are placed & not concentrating on the flashcards..... when it is time for the Gym session, she also dont like the monkey bar & the crawling over the hurdle... the only thing that she likes is the Swing..... reasons being cranky are cos of the bells & maracas + time for her to nap..... asked ShiHui what she think abt Jia Hui learning progress.... she said Jia Hui is able to concentrate well in the 1st half but after that, she become cranky & asked whether is it cos it's time for her to nap.....& yes.. it is

Will see how it goes during her next lesson on 21st July.... skipping 14th July lesson cos she going for her last dose of Pneumococcal Jab....

Baby Jia Hui totally burnt out after the 1st lesson..... slept straight after her milk @ Wai Po's house.....

Mummy had signed me up for a trial @ My Gym Great World City (30th June 07 Saturday) organised by Piyo & Amy.... Mummy had asked Da Yi to drive us there is Daddy is not free.... Thanks Da Yi for her time....

Development

*Learn how to crawl from sitting position......initially, will only get into crawling position with help from mummy or daddy by putting her on the floor.....daddy taught her once how to slowly get into crawling position & Baby Jia Hui learns it very fast....& she did it the very next moment
*Her crawling skills is improving as the days pass by...... now she able to crawl all the way from the living room to the study room to look for mummy & daddy
*Learns how to clap her hands when mummy said "clap your hands" or when mummy sing the "Qing Ping Guo" song
*Jump & shake her hands & body when she hears music.... notices that she loves music alot....
*Learning to pull herself to stand with support from table, sofa & any other things she can get hold of.....
*Loves to tip toes when standing up... so daddy had been teaching her the right way to stand with feet flat on the floor... but she will tip toes again when trying to reach for something or when she is excited

Mummy had arranged an outing with Melissa (Keiran's mummy) on 15th June (Friday) before Melissa reports tto her new working place.... so Mummy took half day leave.... & arranged a gathering at AMK Hub.....

Why this special gathering???? This is because both Jia Hui & Keiran are both on the same day (1st August 2006), in the same hospital (Thomson Medical Centre) & in the same level too.....

After window shopping around, Mummy & Melissa deceided to find some place to se & so we went to MacDonald...

Bought this Love to Walk Baby Pooh for Jia Hui from the forum... as it is very cute..cos when u call out Pooh, he will come to u... Pooh can walk, run and know when he fallen over & can also say cute phrases..... but after getting the Pooh, then came to know that this Pooh is not an English speaking Pooh but a German speaking Pooh... got the choice of returning the Pooh & get the refund... but since the Pooh is so cute, decided to keep it as think this Pooh is being discontinued.....

Anyway, Jia Hui loves the Pooh alot.... even thou it is a German Pooh.... hee hee hee
